Back in October of 2024, when Benjamin, a local high school senior, stepped through the doors of Butcher Power Products for a facility tour organized by Julie Muir, Director of Employer Partnerships for the Los Rios Community College District, he had no idea he’d walk away with more than just insight — he’d walk away with inspiration.

Alongside educators, students, and community college personnel, Benjamin was given a rare, behind-the-scenes look into the heart of Butcher Power Products. The tour wasn’t just a walkthrough of equipment and low voltage switchboards — it was a glimpse into a culture rooted in purpose. Attendees learned not only about what we build, but why we build: to empower people and communities with solutions, and to create a workplace where passion meets opportunity.

For Benjamin, it was more than machinery and metal — it was a spark. He was particularly moved by the vision of Founder and CEO Tom Butcher, whose leadership and authenticity lit up the room.
